Consumer-Directed services means you as the consumer has the freedom of CHOICE. As your service facilitator, we intend on bringing you the best possible quality of service and ensuring that your plan of care meets your needs.
Elderly or Disabled Consumer Directed (EDCD) Waiver Services
The Elderly or Disabled Consumer Directed (EDCD) Waiver benefit provides comprehensive and preventive health care services for the elderly who are enrolled in Medicaid. EDCD waiver originates from four different possible sources: acute care hospitals, nursing facilities, the local department of social services (LDSS) or the local health department (LHD) in the locality where the individual resides. DMAS’s service authorization contractor performs service authorizations prior to the services being provided. Providers of service may be an agency, adult day health care, partnership, corporation, or association that meets the standards and requirements set forth by DMAS and has a current, signed contract with DMAS to be a provider of waiver services.
Early, Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, & Treatment (EPSDT) Waiver Services
The Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) benefit provides comprehensive and preventive health care services for children under age 21 who are enrolled in Medicaid. EPSDT is key to ensuring that children and adolescents receive appropriate preventive, dental, mental health, and developmental, and specialty services.
